
Ruth A. Lippin, LCSW, JD
Ruth Lippin is a licensed clinical social worker specializing in the treatment of anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders (OCD), and related mood disorders. Ms. Lippin has treated many women suffering from perinatal and Postnatal OCD. She attended Hampshire College in Amherst MA, for her undergraduate studies, the City University of New York for her Juris Doctor, and the Columbia University School of Social Work for her Master of Science.
Ms. Lippin has maintained a private practice in Manhattan for over 25 years, where she works with clients across the lifespan. Ruth is the President-Elect of the NYC-CBT Association. She is also a professional member of the International OCD Foundation (IOCDF) and of the Anxiety and Depression Association of America (ADAA), where she is a founding Fellow and was the co-chair of the ADAA’s Child and Adolescent Special Interest Group from 2018-2023. Ruth is a recipient of the ADAA’s 2012 Clinician’s Outreach Award. For the past several years, she has served on the Advisory Board of the International Paruresis Association (IPA). Before Ruth became a therapist, she had a successful career as a public interest attorney in New York City.
