Alexandrina (Alex) Yakimov
Co-Facilitator
Alex received her undergraduate degree from Barnard College with a focus on Neuroscience & Behavior. Since then, she has worked in numerous laboratory research spaces from neuroscience at Barnard College to cancer immunology at Memorial Sloan Kettering. During this time, she has also gained experience in crisis care as a suicide hotline volunteer for Samaritans NYC. In this work, she’s spoken with a wide range of individuals—some of whom are new mothers experiencing PMADs. These conversations have illuminated how often maternal mental health struggles go unseen and how vital it is to create safe, compassionate environments where individuals can process their emotions without judgment.
